Dan Werner

Dan has been a member of the Congregation for more than 35 years. He has served on the board of directors since 2015 and on the Executive Committee since 2017. He is also a member of the Community Issues and Social Action, Budget and Finance, and Professional Development committees.

Dan is the former president of MacNeil/Lehrer Productions, which produced the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on PBS and is a former executive producer at NewsHour Productions, LLC, where he created a weekly online news program for middle school students. Dan also served as executive director of By the People Productions, a civic journalism and engagement project, which among other programming produced America in One Room, a historic gathering of 500 American voters for a nonpartisan discussion about the significant issues of the 2020 presidential election. Dan is a graduate of New York University and earned a JD and MA in Journalism at Columbia University.
