WHC’s Board of Directors has nominated Rabbi Susan N. Shankman to serve as the seventh senior rabbi in WHC’s history.

WHC members are asked to attend a special congregational meeting on THURSDAY, AUGUST 25 at 7:00 pm. At this meeting, the Rabbinic Transition Committee will present its report and take questions from the congregation prior to a vote on Rabbi Shankman’s nomination.

The meeting will take place at Temple, and an option to participate via Zoom will also be available.

All members in good financial standing are eligible to vote, but you must RSVP.

Each primary adult member in the household gets an individual vote (children over 18 living at home must have their own membership) and all votes are anonymous. If you join virtually, each member will have to sign in on separate devices in order to vote (both can’t watch and vote on one computer).

If confirmed, Rabbi Shankman would be the first woman to hold the position of senior rabbi in WHC’s 170-year history.
