We invite you to end your week and welcome Shabbat with us!

The Besters will sponsor a special “adult ice cream bar” oneg after the service in honor of the Hunger Project reaching 1.5 million meals packed!

What is the Hunger Project? The USDA estimates one out of every eight D.C. households cannot afford or does not have access to nutritionally adequate and safe food. The Hunger Project fills that gap as volunteers – adults, children, individuals, families, and groups – put on hairnets, gloves, and aprons and carefully measure and package ingredients that become over 10,000 nutritious meals for the underserved in our area. Our packing events are tikkun olam at its very heart, and the meals we pack are on people’s tables within a week.

RSVP REQUESTED

At 6:00 pm and again after the service: Have something to eat (to tide you over or as your dinner), a drink (we offer a full bar, plus non-alcoholic options), and connect with your community.

Kids are always welcome, and they’ll be able to eat before (and after) the service, play Connect 4, Jenga, and cornhole games, create at a coloring table, and do other arts & crafts activities.

6:30 pm – Our Shabbat service begins. ASL interpreters will be on hand for tonight’s service.

After the service – Stay for dessert, or more dinner and drinks! Tonight’s “adult ice cream bar” in honor of the Hunger Project is sponsored by the Besters.

Special thanks to our musicians who add so much to the service. We wouldn’t have them without the support of the Irene & Abe Pollin Music Program Initiative.
