Home > Events > Faith in Action > Hanukkah Helpers with WHC’s Hunger Project
On Sunday, December 10, students in grades 2-12 are invited to be a “Hanukkah Helper” and to give back to the community at a time when so many are in need.
We’ll be working with the WHC Hunger Project to package up thousands of meals that will go to those who would otherwise go hungry in our community.
From 12 – 1 p.m. we’ll have snacks, lunch and learn more about the Hunger Project and how it helps people.
*Religious School Temple students will need to get a ride to the Bindeman Center for the program following Religious School – there will be pizza when they arrive!
We’ll spend from 1-2:30 p.m. working hard – pouring, measuring and sealing bags of food before packing them up to be sent to local food banks. When all is said and done, we’ll have packed thousands of meals for our community!
Students in grades 6 and up can earn SSL hours for their participation.
Because this is a social action event, there is no required payment. However, if you’d like to make a donation to offset the cost of lunch and the expense of the food packing.
If you have any questions, please contact Leila Gordon at lgordon@whctemple.org.
