We are examining historic and contemporary racial injustice in our nation to find a path to help repair our world. With each other and with our partners in the Black faith community, we will explore, talk, listen, and do the important work that is critical to affect change.

Join us on Monday, November 9 for a keynote address to launch our November conversations —

“Blacks and Jews: Where Do We Stand? Where Do We Go?”

Georgetown professors Terrence Johnson and Jacques Berlinerblau, authors of the forthcoming book Blacks and Jews in America: An Introduction to Dialogue, will discuss the complex and lengthy history between these two minority groups.

Their dialogue will span a variety of issues, including the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement and Jewish responses to it, allegations of Jewish racism and Black anti-Semitism, as well as how contemporary art and popular culture represent this relationship.

Through an intelligent, sensitive, and informed dialogue, Professors Berlinerblau and Johnson will discuss their work to bring Jews and Blacks together, sharing pitfalls, myths, and the reality we must face.

Then, continue the conversation with two upcoming discussion sessions:

Thursday, November 12 at 7:00 pm we will gather (on Zoom) as a WHC community to continue the conversation of the themes discussed in November’s keynote lecture.

We will also come together with our partners in the Black faith community to explore, learn, talk, and listen on Thursday, November 19 at 7:00 pm.
