January’s Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend will be filled with wonderful activities, including tonight’s very special MLK Shabbat. WHC welcomes clergy from nearly two dozen churches and mosques in the D.C. area. Magnificent voices from several choirs join our cantors to lift us up with song as we honor the legacy and ideals of Dr. King.

Please register below, especially if you are bringing members of your congregation to the service.

We invite you to end your week and welcome Shabbat with us!

At 6:00 pm and again after the service: Have a small nosh, a drink (we offer a full bar, plus non-alcoholic options), and connect with your community.

Kids are always welcome, and they’ll be able to eat before (and after) the service, play Connect 4, Jenga, and cornhole games, create at a coloring table, and do other arts & crafts activities.

6:30 pm – Our Shabbat service begins. Jonathan Eig, author of King: A Life, will be our featured speaker this year. The book was a National Book Award nominee and is what The New York Times called, “The new definitive biography of Martin Luther King, Jr.” Read more about Eig and his book.*
