WHC is very excited to be partnering with a progressive Israeli congregation in Haifa, as we continue to deepen and explore our relationship with Israel. Religious School parents (and grandparents or other special adult friends) are invited to join us for a special breakfast with Rabbi Na’ama Dafni Kellen, one of the two lead rabbis from Or Hadash. Cantor Susan Bortnick will lead a conversation with Rabbi Na’ama about what it’s like to be a progressive rabbi in Israel right now. Join them, schmooze, and meet others! Following the breakfast conversation, Rabbi Na’ama will engage with our Religious School students for the remainder of the morning. Please RSVP so we can plan ahead!

Parents have a chance to then join Rabbi Sue Shankman for a discussion with Professor Sharona Hoffman about her book Aging with a Plan: How a Little Thought Today Can Vastly Improve Your Tomorrow. Professor Hoffman will address some of the financial, legal, medical, and other challenges that we face as we grow older or care for aging loved ones. The author will offer a wealth of practical advice backed by research studies and illustrated by many personal anecdotes. This will take place in the Small Chapel at 10:30 am.
