We set the tone for the weekend with a powerful tribute to Dr. King’s enduring belief that “faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” This moving service will feature the uplifting voices of the Shiloh Baptist Church choir from D.C.; our own volunteer choir, Kol Rinah; and the presence of interfaith leaders from across the community. Together, we will reflect on Dr. King’s call for unity and the moral imperative to work together across faiths to “bend the arc of the moral universe towards justice.”
We hope to see you at MLK SunDAY of Service as well!
At 6:00 pm and again after the service: Have something to eat (to tide you over or as your dinner), a drink (we offer a full bar, plus non-alcoholic options), and connect with your community.
Kids are always welcome, and they’ll be able to eat before (and after) the service, play Connect 4, Jenga, and cornhole games, create at a coloring table, and do other arts & crafts activities.
6:30 pm – Our Shabbat service begins.

After the service – Stay for dessert, or more dinner and drinks!
Special thanks to our musicians who add so much to the service. We wouldn’t have them without the support of the Irene & Abe Pollin Music Program Initiative.
