When busloads of migrants began arriving in DC from Texas and Arizona last year, many volunteers from churches and the larger community came together to welcome migrants with dignity and respect, to offer them a warm meal or two, clothing and hygiene items, and support on the next leg of their journey.
To support refugees settling in the DC area, from August 19–September 10, WHC will be collecting new and gently used sneakers for the Migrant Ministries at Capitol Hill United Methodist Church and Washington City Church of the Brethren. Collection bins will be available at both Temple and JBSC.
